I lived as best as I could, running and hiding from the flames and the fires, till one day I went to the house of the Lord, and there in the the gallery, I stood at the foot of the cross.
I looked upon the face of Jesus, but it couldn't stay, my gaze drawing forth the flames of hell. Then I said to Jesus, here I am standing at the foot of your cross, unable to gaze at the crucifix before me. Won't you save me that I may truly live? Please save me, that I may truly live.
There and then was my own miracle, at the foot of the cross, I was healed. I was able to raise my gaze, to look upon the face of my Lord, who saved my soul from the flames of hell. It was quiet, and in an instant, and that was the last I heard of it.
Now, here in my living room, pondering about my frailty, the weaknesses in my flesh, the sins of my mortal body. I look upon the face of Christ, who rescued me at the foot of the Cross once before, as He did for humanity, many many years ago, and also a whisper, that He did it before, He can do it again...
