THE ROAD IS NEVER ALONE

I Spoke to King Solomon yesterday,
Told him I was sad and lonely, yeah;
He looked at me and deeply smiled,
Showed me a god-forsaken road,

Then said:
Listen carefully and watch, my child—
The road is never alone!
Listen, he said, the road is never alone!

Your joy is yours, and so is sadness,
Listen carefully, he said, my child—
The road is never alone,
And so you never walk alone!

The path is lonely, and the lane is dark,
Your mind is filled
With a lot of things you can't track,
Still, you never walk alone.

Dark skies like a blacked-out picture,
Blowing like garments without cincture,
Tripping your feet chasing the future,
Bad news that keeps the soul injured;

At times, happiness becomes a decoy,
Deflecting attention like a wind-up toy,
But sadness remains behind the smile,
Mind shattering like a broken tile…

But I spoke to King Solomon yesterday,
Told him I was sad and lonely, yeah;
He looked at me and deeply smiled,
Showed me a god-forsaken road,

Then said:
Listen carefully and watch, my child—
The road is never alone!
Listen, he said, the road is never alone!

Your joy is yours, and so is sadness,
Listen carefully, he said, my child—
The road is never alone,
And so you never walk alone!

Fire, sky, earth and water,
As long as we live,
Our worries are immortal,
Alas, they're indeed immortal!

So I hang the picture that speaks of sadness,
But the sons of men will make it art;
When I speak, I'll have to take heart,
Even in pain, you'll find greatness.

So, I wear my heart upon my sleeve,
Upon the pains that life chose to give,
How soon till we get to leave?
What is faith if you can't believe?

But I spoke to King Solomon yesterday,
Told him I was sad and lonely, yeah;
He looked at me and deeply smiled,
Showed me a god-forsaken road,

Then said:
Listen carefully and watch, my child—
The road is never alone!
Listen, he said, the road is never alone!

Your joy is yours, and so is sadness,
Listen carefully, he said, my child—
The road is never alone,
And so you never walk alone!

And so I beared a poor man's comfort,
This too, indeed, shall pass!
And in the midst of a million sorrows,
There's still a thing that brings great joy…

Eventually, the pictures come to life,
As if from heaven comes a sign
That says: child, it's okay,
I hear your breaths, I hear your sighs;

That there are things we need go through in life,
That it only makes sense when it's time to look back,
That with the pictures come a sign,
That forever, I Am, with you.

And I spoke to King Solomon yesterday,
Told him I was sad and lonely, yeah;
He looked at me and deeply smiled,
Showed me a god-forsaken road,

Then said:
Listen carefully and watch, my child—
The road is never alone!
Listen, he said, the road is never alone!

Your joy is yours, and so is sadness,
Listen carefully, he said, my child—
The road is never alone,
And so you never walk alone!

@ (kahonjohn on IG) You really should see his reel of pictures, they're truly amazing. This is perhaps the least colourful among them, but entirely significant in terms of purpose. Thank you, John.

HAVEN'T FOUND THE ANSWER YET

I searched the four corners of the wind I listened hard, I heard the birds sing I saw them take to flight and fly free I saw power in their wholesome wings  I went deep down the ocean depths  The primordial power of the earth I felt  Was ever so majestic the deeper I went Words fail to capture the essence  I climbed the mountains of the highest peaks Caught the sunrise on the tallest trees Saw so much beauty that I couldn't breathe Saw greatness that made my heart to freeze  In high spirits, but my energy spent  Still seeking answers, but I couldn't make a dent I searched the secrets of the seven seas I was put to bed by the gentle breeze  It doesn't matter if I spend my last cent   These answers are worth more per every cent  Yet on my strength I can't depend  To the grace of God, I must defer For in the fire, I found no answer In the earthquake, I heard no response  In the thunder, there was no reply  But in the g...

A PLACE

We all need a place, where we can be less perfect  Bottle our insecurities, and let it out in private Dine with our doubts and pick bones with faith It can be a person, it can be a place  It can be something we'll never do again. It could be healing, it could be coping  It could be something to help you keep moving  Life is a lesson, and people are blankets  Life is transient, and memories are strength Life is transient, and memories are strength. Like a plastic bag I kept some messy things  On the outside, it was fine But inside was less pleasant  Messy, not dirty, but serving a purpose  To keep my environment clean And help arrange my thoughts as I cleaned: Resented the baggage, but it grew on me And I came to realize its usefulness  We all need a place we can be less perfect  To figure out our weaknesses or find our strengths—   It's okay if we're lonely along the way  Or weak by ourselves when we can't find help Life is a l...
