PARTY SPIRIT

We might fall in love with ideals,

But truth should prevail;

We might hate the other guys,

But love should prevail.

We might be glad at their misfortune,

But compassion should prevail,

We might be on different sides,

But peace should prevail.

We might be at loggerheads,

But understanding should prevail,

We might be mutual in loathing,

But respect should prevail.

We should protect our interests,

But empathy should prevail,

We might be greedy,

But equity should prevail.

We've seen our world ruled by desire,

Old men with power who should have retired,

Our friends are wrong, but we back them up,

At the expense of another to prove a point!

It's good to be together, but there's a but—

To know the truth, have your sense of worth!

To be in a party, but in love with the truth,

Not with evil dwell under a roof!

We've seen divisions eat up the country,

One against another, then all and sundry;

Divisions setting fire to the world,

We've seen the earth polluted with blood!

Party spirit at the helm of affairs,

Nothing changes until we do;

To evaluate the actions of our friends,

In the light of God and humanity.

I'm thinking of our talks with a smile,

Although sometimes I'm scared that I cross the line,

But you always reassure me that it's fine,

Like a fish, I'm always testing the line,

Pushing boundaries because you allow,

Humorous are you, and mighty kind

Talking with you through tough times,

I'm sure this relation is God's hand.

You've been of help to me, I said

I know you'll want to protest—

But I'm smiling at a word you said,

Far long after it had been said.

I cherish the lovely moments we talk;

Always waiting to hear from you,

Sometimes I'm scared I bother you,

But I can't seem to help myself.

I wanted to write something happy,

But happiness is serious business,

And from everyone else

When we vibe, there's no insecurity

Like one mind, at ease in unity,

We already know he's not intelligent

A world class joker

From the band of merry men

You devised a way to catch a thief

You're killing innocent people in the streets

Captain at the helm of affairs

People are dying here and there

You said you won't change your stance

Your form is good for instance

The thoughts behind your acts are mighty fine

But the execution is far from design

Left to me, you should resign

It's obvious you have no clue

Seated atop your plush mountains

Drinking freely our mountain dew

The people are your first priority

Not the thieves

But you missed it from the beginning

Before you became a king

PS: The tiger retired, and the monkey was found guilty of financial crimes. He should have been charged against humanity. He was a financial terrorist. A wicked dumb monkey!
